Dr. Matthew Loughlin, MD, is Medical Director of the clinic and a board-certified physician who began providing Florida medical marijuana evaluations in 2019. He attended Fordham University and graduated from New York Medical College in 1993. Dr. Loughlin's patients describe him as a very compassionate, caring physician doctor and the ultimate professional. Away from work he enjoys time with his three kids, rescuing animals, and making birdies.

Can I qualify for a medical marijuana card if I'm a dual resident that lives in Florida and another state?
Yes! The State of Florida allows seasonal residents to get a medical marijuana card. If you live in Florida for 31 consecutive days and provide us with two pieces of verified documentation, we can see you for a medical marijuana evaluation. Call our office with questions.
Will I definitely get certified if I see Dr. Loughlin?
There are some conditions that disqualify people in Florida from getting a medical marijuana card. Those include pregnancy and experiencing psychosis. We're here to help - please call us.

Is it safe for senior citizens to consume medical marijuana?
Yes! Medical marijuana is safe for senior citizens. Some marijuana products can be very helpful for treating symptoms with seniors. Our doctors educate all patients about interactions with current medications and possible side effects, so you can get the best relief, naturally.
When does my medical marijuana card expire?
A Florida medical marijuana card expires every 12 months. The State of Florida requires a visit with a qualified physician to monitor for effectiveness, reassess needs, and recertify every 210 days. We will remind you when it's time to recertify with us.
What happens during my visit with Dr. Loughlin?
An in-person physical examination and a full assessment of your medical history is required the first time you see a doctor for State of Florida medical marijuana certification. At your 7-month renewal visit, a telehealth visit may be an option if you're seeing the same doctor.
Can I do a telehealth visit?
Yes! Once you've met with Dr. Loughlin for an in-person evaluation, your recertification visits may be telehealth.

Our office is centrally located in Panama City Beach, Florida. Thrive Alternative Medicine regularly helps patients in Bay County, Walton County and throughout the Florida Panhandle, but we can potentially help any Florida permanent or seasonal residents.
